Neuro Behavioral Medicine

Neuro-Behavioral Medicine

The goal of Neuro-behavioral Medicine is to quickly and accurately evaluate the patients, and then use the most effective treatment to stabilize them so that they may return to their normal life, work and community as soon as possible.

To make a quick and accurate diagnosis and check for any related complications, you may have a physical exam, lab tests which may include a brain scan, EEG, tests of hormonal function. You may be required to discuss your life, thoughts, feelings and behavior patterns.

Your treatment will be determined by type of disorder you have, its severity and what works best for you. In many cases, a combination of treatments works best.

Treatment may include medicines, talk therapy, brain stimulation, and hospital short stay. If required it may include deaddiction, or couples therapy.

The key to recovery is continued treatment till it is determined that treatment can be withdrawn. Even if you’re feeling better, don’t skip your treatment and follow-up sessions. If you stop on your own, symptoms may relapse and the same treatment may not work again.
